چکیده

The present investigation has been done to conductan Assessment of Genetic Variability, Heritability, and Advance Studies for Yield Quality Traits in Chickpea Elite Genotypes (Cicer arietinum L.). experiment is laid out Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications minimize the error. was carried during Rabi 2020-2021. analysis ten characters having plant height, number primary branches per plant, secondary pods seeds pod, pod length, days 50% flowering, 100- seed weight, yield plot as a dependent variable. High genotypic coefficient variation phenotypic were found (25.5 25.9), plot(25.4 25.8) several (15.7 28.5) displayed negligible influence environment on expression character. heritability coupled high genetic advance seen (90 51.8), plot(97.1 51.6), 27.8), plant(70 23.3), (96 20.6), length (95 38.9), indicating an additive gene effect. Therefore, these characteristics can be used further breeding programs crop advancement.

GENETIC DIVERGENCE IN CHICKPEA (Cicer arietinum L.)

Genetic diversity of 27 chickpea genotypes was studied through Mahalanobis D and Principal Component analysis. The genotypes under study fall into five clusters. The cluster II contained the highest number of genotypes (11) and Cluster I contained the lowest. Cluster I produced the highest mean value for number of pods per plant. The inter cluster distances were much higher than the intra clust...

genetic variability and interrelationships among agronomic traits in chickpea (cicer arietinum l.) genotypes

to determine the association between genetic parameters and traits in chickpea (cicer arietinum l.) genotypes, a field experiment was conducted with 17 chickpea genotypes using a randomized complete block design with four replications at the ilam agricultural and natural resources research center in the 2004 growing season. genetic parameters including genetic, environmental and phenotypic vari...

Estimates of genetic variability and scope of selection for yield determinants in mutated populations of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)

The experimental material consisted seven mutagenic populations of chickpea in M3 and M4 generation, control (Avarodhi) and check variety Pusa 312. The experiment was conducted during rabi 2009-10 and 2010-11. On the basis of per se performance, six mutagenic populations were selected for high seed yield coupled with high harvest index and more number of pods per plant. None of the mutagenic po...

Characterising root trait variability in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) germplasm

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is an important grain legume crop but its sustainable production is challenged by predicted climate changes, which are likely to increase production limitations and uncertainty in yields. Characterising the variability in root architectural traits in a core collection of chickpea germplasm will provide the basis for breeding new germplasm with suitable root traits ...

Assessment of Genetic Variation and Mode of Inheritance of Some Quantitative Traits in Chickpea (cicer Arietinum L.)

The present study was conducted to explore the magnitude of genetic variation and mode of inheritance for some quantitative traits among the sixteen genotypes of chickpea at Arid Zone Research Institute, Bhakkar, during the Rabi crop season 2012-13. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The data regarding eight important quantitative tra...
